This is your break out season!

Scripture Reading -- 2 Samuel 5:1-22 NIV

"So David went to Baal Perazim, and there he defeated them. He said, “As waters break out, the Lord has broken out against my enemies before me.” So that place was called Baal Perazim. The Philistines abandoned their idols there, and David and his men carried them off." -- 2 Samuel 5: 20 -22

Leader

David is known to the Israelites as the one that led his people to battle and won each time because he inquired of God. Therefore, Israel also knew him as a leader. Israel also knew David as a shepherd who protected his sheep from lions and bears. He fought with his bare hands and defeated the enemies of his camp. David was hand-picked by God to be ruler over the children of Israel and was anointed as King by the Prophet Samuel.

Warrior

David was known as a warrior. When the armies of Israel cowered at the fear of Goliath, David displayed courage and trusted his God to fight his every battle. David went up before Goliath with just a slingshot and three smooth stones. He proved that the God he served is the same yesterday, today, and forever more and that God never fails.

Man After God's Own Heart

David had a relationship with God. Every time David went up before an army to fight a battle, he would inquire of God. David never went before his enemies without God. He allowed God to lead, guide, and protect him; that's why God referred to him as a man after God's own heart.

David knew God as the God of the breakthrough. God broke through in his life and can break through in your life today. When last have you inquired of God before you make a decision, choose a job, or choose a mate? Where is your relationship with God? How often do you put God first in your life?

What are you going through today? Let God break through in your situation. Are you willing to let God fight your battles? Surrender to Him today? Seek his face for the answer; allow Him to lead you like he led David. You don't have to do it alone. Know that this is your breakout season; petition God to go before you!

"A Psalm of David. Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight." --

Ps . 144:1 (KJV)
